Mail Boxes Etc. has been constantly growing throughout its history. The approximately 1,600 MBE Service Centers, in more than 30 countries, put our business concept at the service of the needs of companies and people in the different local communities in which we are present.
Founded in San Diego - California in 1980. At the end of 1997, at the suggestion of the American Central Franchisor, Maje International Corp. became Master Franchise for all of Central America. During the first years, MBE Central America created and developed the structure, previously non-existent, to positively start the expansion of the Mail Boxes Etc. Franchise in Panama. MBE Central America grows in Panama to 37 MBE centers and is now expanding in the other Central American countries.
In May 2009, MBE Worldwide, a company with Italian capital, acquired from the American MBE Inc. (in turn owned by UPS Inc.) all the worldwide activity of Mail Boxes Etc., becoming the owner of the brand, the business format and existing Master Franchise contracts worldwide (except for the United States and Canada, which remain under the responsibility of MBE Inc.)
Thus, MBE Worldwide becomes the global franchisor of the Mail Boxes Etc. brand and MBE Central America becomes part of the MBE Worldwide Network by Master Franchise contract.
